Before transitioning into legal practice, Cavit Memişoğlu gained extensive hands-on experience as an oceangoing deck officer with Beşiktaş Group, one of Turkey’s leading tanker management companies. The company’s fleet is chartered and approved by major global oil companies, providing Cavit with invaluable insight into the practical and operational aspects of the maritime industry.
Upon completing his law degree, Cavit began his legal career as a lawyer and admiralty manager at a prominent law firm in Istanbul. In this role, he was entrusted with providing comprehensive legal assistance across all facets of maritime law and insurance law, particularly in relation to marine casualties, charter party disputes, and bill of lading matters.

In addition to his legal practice, Cavit serves as a visiting lecturer in Maritime Law at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Maritime Faculty and the Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Faculty, where he imparts his practical and legal expertise to the next generation of maritime professionals.
